Welcome to the fourth and final part in my managing mental health at Christmas series. While this post is part of the series, these gifts for health and wellness are for any occasion, not just Christmas!
Choosing gifts for your loved ones can be a difficult job at the best of times, but what about those who suffer from mental health issues? Does it have to be a big or grand gesture? Will it cost you the Earth? The answer to both of those questions is absolutely not! Here is a list of gifts for health and wellness that are both thoughtful and affordable.
When I receive gifts from people, I always try to show gratitude, even if I’m not sure why they have bought me something! (I was raised with manners ;)) But the gifts that have always touched me the most are the ones that have clearly had thought put into them. The ones that tell me the person really thought about me when they made this purchase.
I always try to make my gifts to others meaningful and useful. Or I make gifts myself. Here are some ideas of gifts for health and wellness you can give to those people in your life who may be struggling, or just to show that you care.
Mental Health Greeting Cards
Here on Miss Serenity, you will find a range of handmade cards that I lovingly put together. I love to craft and create beautiful things, and these cards came from my need to be able to give cards to those who are suffering but couldn’t find anything that said quite the right thing.

Journals and Planners
Journals are a fantastic way for people to keep on top of their mental and physical health. They can keep track of important things like their diet, exercise, mood and more to help identify triggers and see when things are starting to improve. Get a journal your loved one will appreciate here.
Personal organisers are wonderful gifts for anyone wanting to get more routine in their life. Filled with weekly and monthly diaries, at a glance information and a host of other features, these are the perfect gift ideas for the unorganised! Check out the selection of planners and organisers here.
Weighted Blankets
Weighted blankets are great for anxiety. They use something called ‘Deep Touch Pressure Stimulation’ therapy which offers a sense of release and calm. By using evenly weighted pockets across the blanket that distributes an even pressure across the body; they can ease not only anxiety, but also insomnia, as well as stress among other things. Find the Highams Weighted blanket here.
Jewellery
Remember when fidget spinners were all the rage? There’s a reason for that. Being able to absent-mindedly play with something can soothe the mind and also relieve anxiety. It helps to channel the fidgety feelings, that often accompany anxiety, away from the body. Spinner rings are a great way to wear something lovely that also serves a practical purpose! This one is a 925 sterling silver spinner ring with moons and stars to decorate it.
Mugs
My Be Kind collection features a cute little hedgehog holding a flower, designed with mental health in mind. The three different styles of mug each make a beautiful gift for someone who likes their tea or coffee, and also holds an important message. Find them in the gift shop

Books
Reasons to stay alive, by Matt Haig is another volume you may come across on other pages of my blog. He talks about his time at rock bottom, as well as how he overcame his depression and anxiety to live a life that he feels is worth living. It’s a book that most of us having suffered the same things, can relate to. I found myself nodding along while reading it several times. Again, it’s an inspirational read that I re-read when I feel the need.
